Children are back in school, pumpkin flavorings are proudly boasted from coffee shop menus, and each candle you pass has a touch of maple. Fall is on the horizon! I’ve accepted; I think I favor fall decor the most. While Easter is my favorite, there’s something about the exhaustion of summer heat that makes you want to welcome fall with open arms. I was chatting with a friend about how, as soon as school starts, I start to crave our home even more. You stare at the schedule you promised you wouldn’t overfill, yet it’s still full. Birthday parties, baseball games, and ballet classes leave you with little time to linger at home- so when you CAN, you want your family to feel the comfort of fall. And MacKenzie-Childs fall decor does just that! It’s almost as if the Courtly Check corrects the heat and the chaos of the carpool line with its charm.
MacKenzie-Childs has quite the collections this fall! Think Bubblegum Pink, Mocha, and Toile. I like our fall decor to remain sweet, not spooky, and when I saw their 1,100+ new arrivals for fall, it was everything I love about Halloween. I wanted to create a candy land for Maxi and Harry with my take on a MacKenzie-Childs pumpkin patch in our living room. I also prefer to keep my dining room a bit more fall-focused so I can use it to recreate my Thanksgiving table. I’ve done that over the years here and here, so this year, I was thrilled to find their mushroom additions!
Let’s get to the part my kids adore- trick-or-treating! I love holiday garlands around my door, but when I saw their hanging candy decor, my mind went to my mantle. My friend Kristy makes my holiday garlands (if you are local, reach out, and I can give you her contact info- she doesn’t ship), and I added in the candy. I collect MacKenzie-Childs ribbon each Barn Sale and I had plenty of pink I knew I had to add in as a nod to their Bubblegum Pink Check. You can get a garland, loop in your favorite ribbon for texture, and use twist ties to add in the hanging candy. For added texture, you can add in their spider picks or clips! I carried the candy through by adding felt candy corn to my berry bowls from my collection.
I kept the theme going into the kitchen by mixing in these canisters with my Courtly Check. They are darling in a coffee bar or next to your Sweet Stand. I keep this figurine on my side table next to my coffee, but if you like to set up a whole coffee or seasonal cocoa bar, I’d also add it in the kitchen! You could even gift each canister individually- fill it with tea or hot chocolate, wrap it in cellophane, and you’ve got a great hostess gift for a fall gathering. Plus, they pair perfectly with your Rosy Check Tea Kettle.
I hope you enjoyed our Halloween at-home tour! I had visions of a family costume this year- but I think my children will overrule me. Maxi wants to be Hello Kitty. Harry wants to be Mater. So I suppose that leaves Hunt to re-wear Harry’s old ghost costume! At least I’ve got an MC garland backdrop! ha!
But as you bring out your pumpkins, and add to your collection seasonally with MacKenzie-Childs, I have a discount code for you! KATEYFALL15 – It is valid for ONE use per customer, ONLY for the next 48 hours. So add everything you want to cart and then use it! Use code
Whether your heart is drawn to pinks or your mind is drawn to the calming tones of mocha- there’s a new arrival for us all.

K
